Security screening of passenger, air crew and hand-carried baggage

1. Passenger is to go through security screening at specific channel.
2. Security screening will be conducted to passenger by a hand scanner after he/she passed the walk through detector.
3. Hand-carried baggage will be conveyed through x-ray machine for security screening. In case there is suspected article, manual search will be made immediately in front of its owner.
4. In case suspected article is defined as dangerous article, the matter will be informed to its owner and legal action will be taken. Prohibited article will be taken away and given to the airline staff to keep separately in the aircraft. Security article receipt will be issued to the owner of the article to pick it up at the destination.

Security screening of loading baggage

1. After baggage (excluding hand-carried baggage) is screened by x-ray machine and suspected article is unfound, the baggage will be strapped with plastic belt before being loaded into the aircraft. In case there is suspected article, the security official needs to conduct a manual search for the suspected article in front of the baggage's owner.
2. If the suspected article is defined ad dangerous article, its owner will be notified and a legal action will be taken against him/her. Prohibited article will not be allowed to be loaded together with the baggage. The official will notify the owner or his relatives to pick the article up afterwards.

Security screening of diplomat or consul

1. Security official needs to inspect passport of diplomat or consul.
2. Baggage of diplomat or consul will be inspected as those of others except diplomatic pouch sealed by the embassy.
3. Diplomat or consul will have to fill out the document provided for them.

Airport Security Center located in the arrival lounge gives security service to passengers and airport users at HKT and serves as an emergency center for the report of any emergency or urgent matter occurred within airport area. AOT security officer, tourist police and police from Local Police Station are assigned to jointly work here.

Tourist Police Office of HKT is located on the 3^rd floor. Tourist Police Officers are assigned here to take care of facilitation and security of passengers, airport users and overseas tourists.
